Our next Cooking and Conversation Club meal will be a Haitian lunch hosted by Jen Wos (Turkmenistan '04-'06) and Schebania Cantave, at the home of Barbara Junge (Togo '85-'87) in Fort Lauderdale. Jen and Schebania will provide recipes and show you how to make some Haitian dishes. It’s a pot-luck affair, so please bring a covered dish to round out the Haitian dishes - we ask that you bring sides, salad or dessert.
The number of participants is limited to 12 so reserve your spot as soon as you can. Current members of RPCVSF receive priority. During the meal, everyone will pose or respond to several questions designed to help us learn more about each other - feel free to bring some question ideas.
This is the seventh event in this series. Prior meals included: a Korean bulgogi lunch hosted by Sue Trone (Georgia '05) and prepared by Hyon O’Brien (Korea language instructor '69-'73), an Indian lunch hosted and prepared by Subrata Basu (Belize '11-'14), a Haitian dinner hosted and prepared by Renee (Haiti '01-'04) and Corey Lewis (Haiti '02-'04), and a Thai meal hosted and prepared by Mary Lamberts (Thailand '70-'72).
We are always looking for hosts and/or chefs for future events. If you are interested, please contact Hyon O'Brien at hyonobrien@gmail.com.
Specific directions to Barbara's home will be provided when we confirm your registration.
