Cooking and Conversation Club Luncheon

  • 23 Jan 2016
  • 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • CANCELLED - TO BE Rescheduled

CANCELLED - To be rescheduled - Our next Cooking and Conversation Club will meet soon. Please join us as we prepare a meal together, and get to know new friends.

The Club meals are pot-luck affairs, so please bring a covered dish to round out the main course - we ask that you bring sides, salad or dessert.

The number of participants is limited to 12 so please register soon.

Our purpose is not just eating, but conversation. Please bring a question in writing on a slip of paper, which will be deposited in a bowl. During the course of the event, everyone will take one question and share their answer to the question. The point of this is really for us all to have a chance to get to know each other a bit better than our typical events allow for. Your question can be serious, playful, philosophical or sardonic. The answers are always enlightening and surprising, and we learn a little more about who we were, who we are, and who we want to be.

This is the fourth event in this series; the first was a Korean bulgogi lunch hosted by Sue Trone (Georgia 2005) and prepared by Hyon O’Brien (Korea language instructor 1969-73), followed by an Indian lunch hosted and prepared by Subrata Basu (Belize 2011-14). and a Haitian dinner hosted and prepared by Renee (Haiti, 2001-04) and Corey (Haiti, 2002-04) Lewis.

Hope to see you there!

* We are looking for hosts and/or chefs for future events.  We alternate locations between the Miami area and the Broward/Plalm Beach area. If you are interested in hosting or cooking (or both), please contact Hyon O'Brien at 786-327-9200.
