Peace Corps Storytelling: A Spoken Word Workshop

  • 01 Feb 2015
  • 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM
  • FIU Biscayne Bays Campus, Wolfe University Center, Room 155

Join Peace Corp's Third Goal Program Specialist, Meleia Egger (RPCV Malawi), in collaboration with the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of South Florida on Sunday, Feb 1, 2:30-4:00 p.m. for "Peace Corps Storytelling: A Spoken Word Workshop." Location will be determined based on convenience to those who register for the Workshop.

Why join? RPCVs have some of the most compelling, funny, and moving stories from some of the most remote places on earth. However, RPCVs sometimes feel overwhelmed when sharing their stories from service. Learn how to find, craft, and tell your story in a way that transports and entertains your audience. In this 90 min, interactive session, RPCVs will come away with one well-honed story and the tools to work on more!

Don’t miss this opportunity to share your experiences and get your great story ready to share the next time family, friends, coworkers, or strangers ask you about "what was it like to be in the Peace Corps?

Additionally, 6-8 lucky tellers will be invited to share their 5-7 minute stories at an exciting public event to launch Peace Corps Week at Books & Books on Lincoln Road, in Miami Beach, Sunday, March 1st.
