MDC’s Institute for Civic Engagement & Democracy (iCED) has  four immediate job openings (three PT coordinator positions, and one FT AmeriCorpsVISTA position) – details are below. Please help us spread the word! These are interesting, challenging, meaningful, rewarding positions that make a huge difference in our community. Thank you for helping spread the word! The PT positions are ideal for someone in grad school or who is only looking to work part-time right now.

PT Program Coordinator(2 positions, one at Wolfson one at North)

Help oversee all iCED programming (includes academic service-learning, community service Federal Work-Study, the Civic Action Scorecard, community-campus partnerships, voter engagement, CGI U, changemaking, , civic learning initiatives, iCED Civic Engagement Awards, etc.). Help supervise student employees. Work hand in hand with the Campus iCED FT Director. Website: www.mdc.edu/iced

$17.93 an hour flat rate; M-F, flexible hours, ~20-25 hours a week.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience – we are looking for applicants who want PT and can commit to at least 1 full year or more.

PT Program Professional

Eduardo J. Padron Campus – Little Havana

Oversee all Padron Campus iCED civic learning and democratic engagement programming (includes academic service-learning, community service Federal Work-Study, the Civic Action Scorecard, community-campus partnerships, voter engagement, CGI U, changemaking, , civic learning initiatives, iCED Civic Engagement Awards, etc.). Supervise several student workers and lead all iCED programming at the campus.  Website:www.mdc.edu/iced

$~22 - ~$26 an hour depending on education and experience; M-F, flexible hours, ~25 hours a week.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience – we are looking for applicants who want PT and who ideally can make a commitment of at least 1.5 to 2 years.

FT Community-Campus Partnerships AmeriCorps VISTA

Collegewide – can work out of any of MDC’s 8 campuses

 Help iCED build partnerships between community organizations and MDC campuses, students, faculty, and staff. Help place community service Federal Work Study students with partner organizations. Help build relationships with neighborhoods near four MDC campuses (North, Wolfson, Padron, and Medical). And help recruit students to serve with community partners. Website:www.mdc.edu/iced

 

 12 month FT contract with AmeriCorps. $1,394 monthly stipend,  $6,345 Education Award following year of service, basic health insurance, bus pass/mileage reimbursement, training, professional development and ongoing supervision, non-competitive Federal Eligibility for one year.
